Kitchen plumbing repairs and installations

Kitchen plumbing combines supply pipework, wastes, appliances and cabinetry. Small leaks can remain hidden, so access and moisture damage around cupboards and floors should be considered.

Common kitchen faults

Typical issues include leaking mixers, failed flexi connectors, loose wastes, blocked traps, leaking appliance connections and damaged valves. The fault should be isolated before cabinetry is removed unnecessarily.

Appliance connections

Dishwashers and other water-fed appliances need sound valves, hoses and waste connections. A plumbing repair should not assume that an appliance fault is a pipework fault, or vice versa.

Protect cabinetry and finishes

Even a slow leak can damage kickboards, carcasses and flooring. Where moisture has spread beyond the plumbing fitting, document it separately so repair and reinstatement can be scoped properly.
